PP Pipe

Resins formulated for long-term hydrostatic strength rather than short-term stiffness. The material behind hot and cold water plumbing and industrial pipework.

About PP pipe grades

Rated for fifty years, not for a tensile test

A pipe resin is judged by how it behaves after decades under pressure at temperature, not by how it performs in a short mechanical test. PP-R grades are designed around that: a random copolymer structure with a stabiliser package built to survive continuous hot water service.

That is why pipe grades are specified separately from general polypropylene. The melt flow is low, the molecular weight is high, and the additive system is doing work that will not show up for years. Substituting a general-purpose grade into a pipe extrusion line is a false economy.

Grade range

PP pipe grades we supply

4 grades are currently available. Availability moves with producer allocation, so confirm the grade with us before you commit a production slot.

Selection notes

What decides the pipe grade

Pipe grade selection is governed by the pressure class and the water temperature the system is designed for, and by very little else.

Applications

Typical PP pipe applications

PP pipe systems compete with copper and multilayer on installed cost, corrosion resistance and jointing speed.

Specifying a PP-R system?

Send us the pressure class, the design temperature and the diameter range. We will confirm which pipe grades are available and how they ship.
